Q: How do private henna appointments work?

  • We provide an hourly rate service for all body art services. Although we do an hourly rate, we charge in 15 minute increments with a minimum of $25 for the first 15 minutes. We provide our private henna services at our studio in Rockland Park (Northwest Calgary).

  • The easiest way to get a price quote for particular designs is to text us and send your inspiration photos of the size & style you are looking to get. You are also welcomed to allow me to create a custom piece for you with a provided amount of time you would like to a lot for your service. Just give me a general idea of what you like, and we can go from there!

Q: What are your prices for designs?

  • This will vary according to the size, detail, style of design that you want, and the time it will take to complete. Please find some photos of what you're looking for and send them to me via text or email and I can give you an accurate price quote.

Q: How do I book a henna party with you?

  • Party rate is $100/hour with a 1 hour minimum booking. A travel charge will vary depending on the location. Please send your address along with your inquiry to get a travel quote.

Q: What should I know before receiving my henna application?

  • All body art pastes (henna, jagua, 50/50 blend, and white henna) can take around 30 minutes to dry, please be prepared to have the area you want adorned to be uncovered for a minimum of 30-45 mins. 

  • Avoid applying any oils or lotions to the area that the body art paste will be applied. Applying lotions to that area prior to the appoint can effect the quality and longevity for the stain.

  • Avoid water for the first day, so make sure to shower before your session. Applying water to the fresh stain within the first 6 hours can effect the quality and longevity for the stain.

  • For the following day’s shower, you want to apply a generous amount of coconut oil, Vaseline, or a natural balm on the stain to protect it from water.

  • Henna, Jagua, and 50/50 Blend paste takes around 48 hours to fully darken. Check out our Body Art After Care for more information on how to take care of your body art!

Q: Can I apply henna to my belly if I am pregnant?

  • Yes! I have done multiple pregnant bellies over the years and I can assure you I use the safest & all natural ingredients in our signature henna paste. It is recommended to consult your doctor regarding the topical use of lavender, tea tree or eucalyptus essential oil, however we have never had any problems with this in the past.

  • Most belly designs average around $150, please email me with photos of the size or style to get an accurate quote.

  • Please feel free to mention if you would like to incorporate any symbols, or if you would like Jay to freestyle your design! This is a popular choice and many symbols clients have chosen in the past include: mandalas, lotuses, baby feet and trees!
